French Crown Jewels and a jewel of a painting that the King had out at the Palace of Versailles. So many people straining to get a photo. I kept the one with the woman onlooking so you can see how small this is.

Winged victory and more at the Louvre
There were quite a few sarcophagus- or maybe that ends with an I in the plural!
Here is one and then the very popular winged victory. The other pictures I took to show again how amazing these former palaces-turned museums-can be!

Venus de Milo and others from the Louvre
Even in the ceilings there were occasional reliefs that were so 3D they seemed like statues. And despite the crowds I had a room to myself!
Stores, sunset and protest at the subway entrance in Paris.
The government has made gay marriage legal and there was a peaceful, respectful but vocal protest. Most were under 35. Police camera man video taping the whole thing. But why at the subway? I have my guesses but what do you think?
Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
Second time today to see professionals on a photo shoot. First time was outside Notre Dame where there is a statue of Charlemagne on a horse.
Now see the Eiffel Tower
Illuminated! I have a video to share of how it is even more brilliant when they turn on twinkling lights for awhile starting at ten pm.
A young Chinese woman I shared dinner with (who I tagged along with on this cruise) took this picture of me.
I was only going to do the Eiffel Tower after dinner. Turns out she too had been to the Palace of Versailles the day before and the Musee D'Orsay that afternoon,
We met outside a restaurant looking for an English menu. Garçon gave us one and then we just decided to sit together since he was treating us as companions. She had been in Belgium on business and stopped here for a quick vacation,
