Art in Lille France

On the way to the Art Museum, I noticed this hanging installation. Yes, a few teen age boys came through and cupped the derrière of one of the nymphs.

The dome inside the art museum's stairwell. Beautiful!

More stairwell.

Fabulous building!

My favorite piece of art there- this breathtaking Chagall.

Lille street scenes

A central gathering spot good for people watching.

It was here in Lille that someone for the first time thought I was a local and started asking for directions. In French.

Bell tower near my hotel.

This was also in my hotel neighborhood.
Another cool, large sculpture installation.

More beautiful architecture.

Train stations in Lille France

The two train stations are connected in Lille. This mural is in the international terminal for Eurostar. Love it!

Outside the two terminals. Early spring but the fountains are perfect.

I passed a grandma chasing her little grandchild. We both smiled and laughed. What language  barrier?

What a fun sculpture, right?

From this angle you can really appreciate the beauty of springtime in Northern France!

Paris near the Louvre

Cool backdrop!

Really enjoyed walking in the gardens. Musee de l'Orangerie was near here too. I spent a lot of time in there in just two rooms. The oval rooms that contain Monet's water lilies!

Delighted someone had a boat in the water!

In the summer deck chairs like this one are common as the city brings in sand to make it feel like you got away to the beach!

This sweet spot reminds me that I was eating dark chocolate covered rose petals while walking through here! What a life!

Spring is sweet!

Looking up as one is heading onto the property of the Louvre.
