Schloss Neuschwanstein

Schloss Neuschwanstein is unfinished inside but breathtaking outside.

Taken from a bridge on the way there. Nice diversion.

At this stop along the way is where O read on a sign how the King wanted his castle to rival the Wartburg!

Quite a drop off. When you are there it is cool to see all the land in the valley.

Now I am almost there! Just around the bend and  keep climbing!

A view from inside the castle looking back towards the bridge I had been on earlier.

Ascending or descending, there are times you can see the lake with the mountain backdrop!

Schloss Hohenschwangau

The oldest of the two Kings' Castles.

The 'Mad King's' family home.

Look at this view from the bed chamber!

Peaceful. You can see the lake from here too.

From the walk up to the next castle.

Along the lake at the King's castles

Beautiful day to be in Southern Germany.
Look at the mountains with snow.
The ducks were busy quacking.
Can still see the lake as I start the climb to the highest castle.
72 degrees on this late April day!

Best day!

See why it was so hard to leave?

Traveling in Germany

Another street scene from Erfurt. I like the yellow buildings. Not seen in the US except on people's homes or small businesses.

Traveling by train, this scene caught my eye. Reminds me of Colorado.

Yellow on this church seen from the train.

Now in Munich. Wonderful evening to be outside.

Lots of people eating outside.

This is one from Freising taken early in the morning as I am heading to the train station for the King's castles.

I imagine the children enjoying this play area.
